Dear Reader,
We’ve been thinking (again!). Spiritual truths can be a bit like coins, can’t they?
Because,
1. They are real, lasting wealth. (you can take them with you!). 2. The more wisely we use them, the more they multiply. 3. They have two sides. 4. They shine.
Andrew Harvey’s article gave us this coin. Do you mind if we share it with you? On one side is inscribed ‘If you want to enter by the Narrow Gate, you must become ‘as the dust’. On this side are also the words, ‘Thy will be done’.
On the other side is inscribed ‘We rest in the palm of a great Hand.’ (How does that feel...?)
In other words, the reward for our utmost humility – awareness of our ultimate nothingness, and willingness to surrender all – is utmost security – resting completely in the Hand of That, which makes all things well, in a way far better than we could ever conceive. That’s why, in ancient times, beautiful, spacious temples were often entered through a small doorway with a huge, very heavy stone lintel, or via a tunnel through which you had to crawl.
This month's Review includes a feature by Steve and Shaaron Biddulph, in which they write about how, whatever you love and admire in another, is already present in yourself. Well, presumably, this applies to Cygnus, too! So how about that then? Whatever you love and admire in Cygnus, is already present in YOU! A nice thought, eh? Makes us all feel part of the same team. So we’re using this moment to smile at ‘that thing’ in you which lets you recognise ‘that thing’ in Cygnus. Do you feel it? Namaste!
And may ‘that thing’ grow in all of us. Happy Easter!
With all our love, Geoff, Ann, Jackie, Derek, Martyn, Jackie M, Sue, Samantha, Regina, Jon, Sam, Emrys, Bertel, Sandra, Pat, Kate, Karena and Louisa.
