 Dear Friends,
We've had a certain phrase buzzing round in our heads these last few weeks. Perhaps you've thought of it, too: ‘Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.’ Or, to say what we really mean, ‘Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of the planet’. What do we mean? Well, you know already, of course, but to spell it out.....
If we look at the surface of things, we see that the juggernaut which, for centuries, has been rolling relentlessly towards the dehumanisation and denaturing of this planet and its inhabitants, is gathering speed at an exponential rate. No one can deny, any longer, that time is running out.
But if we look beneath the surface of things, what do we see then? We see that thousands, if not millions of lightworkers are incarnated at this time – people in whom the memory of the truth underlying existence is not so deeply buried as it is in others, so that they can more easily awaken from this sleep we call ‘life’, and trigger an awakening in those around them. There are quite enough of these people, it seems to us, to start a chain reaction that could engulf the world in light, if only they really wake up, and do what they came here to do, now, while there’s still time.
Well, we’ve spent a lot of time preparing for this task, but now, ready or not, we have to do it! So if, like us, you’re quaking in your boots and thinking ‘Oh no. I can’t possibly. I’m no good. I haven’t got what it takes. I’ll fall down at the first hurdle. The opposition is too great,’ then this is what you need to know:
It doesn’t matter. None of it matters. Know that everything you are, and everything this planet is – the good, the bad, and the downright ugly – is accepted and embraced by the ineffable power and compassion of the Centre. Know this, and still more importantly, see this. See it even when – and in fact especially when – you're metaphorically speaking ‘on the floor’, overwhelmed by inner or outer difficulties and finding it quite impossible to feel the presence of the Light.
If it helps, you could even imagine all your troubles, all the things you find hard to accept about yourself and others, the whole of you, and indeed the whole planet, enfolded in the golden heart of a beautiful flower like the one on the front of this magazine.
When we do this – when we accept, and trust, and know that everything is loved just as it is – we stop struggling, against ourselves, against other people. And when we stop wriggling like eels, making even tighter all the knots that bind us, a higher Power can intervene and – with our co-operation – disentangle the mess in ways more beautiful and perfect than any we could possibly have foreseen. It may take time, but we have to accept that, too. And trust. Trust.
This ability – to connect even the lowest of the low with the highest Power there is – is an essential foundation, we feel, for the work we all have to do in this critical time. Why? Because it’s the only foundation that can’t be shaken. On this foundation, we can build a new way of life, and a new vision for the planet. Many of the items in this Review have been chosen with this goal in mind. We hope you will find them useful in your endeavours.
