Dear Friends,
Spiritual teachers often talk about a kind of power, like a seed, present in all of us. They say that this power, like a seed, contains within itself all the answers to all the problems there ever could be; all the responses to all the needs that ever could arise; all that is needed, in fact, to unfold our true being, in all its ineffable glory.
They say that everyone – every created thing, in fact – has a seed like this, and that, therefore, all the answers to all the problems there ever could be, however great, however widespread, are already pre-existent. Nothing we could conceive without that seed, could ever be as good, as beautiful, as true, as what is already present within the seed, waiting to unfold.
That’s why we’ve got into the habit, recently, of visualising this seed unfolding within us like a beautiful flame, and then seeing that seed-flame within us igniting and supporting the seed-flame within whatever we are focusing our attention on – be it a tree, a crystal, a standing stone, a politician, a lettuce leaf, a colleague, or a situation.
In other words, we've been making a kind of prayer, a kind of call to Life:
Let all beings now become Who they truly are. Let them be re-united with their original essence, their ‘seed'. Let the holy seed unfold and radiate on this earthly plane.
We believe that even those people who appear to be doing most to admit destructive forces into our world have a seed like this within them, with all the solutions, all the healing power, all the wisdom already in it. So our personal peace practice at the moment is to envision that – through our prayers and our focused, directed radiation of impartial love – the ‘seed’ in the world's leaders is strengthened, and the atmosphere around the earth and around all its individual inhabitants becomes more conductive to the ‘seed’s’ inspiration.
This is just one suggestion. You will find many more on this website. William Bloom's book Feeling Safe, for instance, is full of helpful suggestions on how to become a positive influence for good in our troubled world. Ervin Laszlo's You Can Change the World is brilliant too, we think. So intelligent. Not a word wasted.
And for connecting with higher powers, we can't recommend Peace Angels too highly. This month's book for giving, it is one of our favourite books of all time, with a combination of simplicity and sensitivity that is simply breathtaking.
With much love from all of us.
