  2006 Issue 11: RESCUE REMEDY

We are pleased to bring you our new regular contribution from Mary Wainwright. A Registered Homeopath, Reiki and Seichem Master and Teacher, Mary offers Reiki and Seichem treatments or homeopathy and flower essence treatments at our shop in Lampeter. She also visits the Cygnus offices regularly, sharing her wonderful healing skills for the benefit of all the Cygnus staff. She is dearly loved by us all, and we thank her with all our hearts for everything she does for us, and now for sharing her health and healing tips with you.

Having recently spent an amazing few days at the International Bach Conference in Cromer, I was reminded of the huge benefits to us all from these wonderful essences. Dr Bach created a set of 38 flower essences which support us at any stage of our life journey, but usually the first experience we have of them is Rescue Remedy. This five-flower formula was first used to revive a survivor of a disaster at sea, by Dr Bach at Cromer in the 1930s.

It combines the healing properties of:

  • Impatiens – treating impatience, irritability and its resulting pain
  • Clematis – unconscious states after injury or trauma
  • Rock Rose – relieving fear, panic or stress
  • Cherry Plum – loss of control of body and mind
  • Star of Bethlehem – ultimate healer of shock and trauma.

Indications for use include: accident, injury, trauma of body, mind or soul, apprehension (eg dentist, exams), life changes, fear, anxiety, nervous tension... the list is endless, and so are its healing abilities.

A few drops under the tongue, or into water and sipped, quickly help regain equilibrium. Drops may also be put into bathwater, rubbed onto the skin, or into the gums, applied to bandages or dressings, bruises or wounds. It is available in drops, spray or cream; used safely internally or externally for all life, human, animal, birds or plants; at pregnancy, birth, life, death and all stages in between. Rescue Remedy is known as 'The First Aid Kit in a Bottle', bringing 'rescue' to any situation. It should not be seen as a total alternative to conventional treatment, but a completely safe support.

The 'Peace Potion of the 21st Century' – don't leave home without it! (Especially during Christmas shopping!)
