2007 Issue 01: THE WEDDING GOWN

Dear Friends,

About ten years ago I had a dream. I was in a churchyard, wearing some sort of clothing that prevented my arms from moving. My legs, too, seemed to be somewhat constricted. However, I managed to make my way inside the church, where I saw that all the pews were filled with people. There was going to be a wedding. I prepared to stand at the back and watch. Then I looked down and noticed, to my bewilderment, that the clothing I was wearing was actually a wedding dress. And the reason why my arms and legs were constricted was because I hadn't put them in the dress properly! Then, of course, the penny dropped. I realised that the wedding about to take place was actually my own; that I was the pure being clothed in white, worthy to love and be loved. I put my arms in the sleeves and wore the dress as it should be worn. And then I sneezed. As I did so, someone at the back of the church started to laugh. Everyone laughed. I laughed too – laughed till I cried tears of pure joy. Then I woke up.

Well, for sure there were a lot of layers of meaning in that dream, lots of messages from my soul, because it's still coming back to me even after all that time. However, there is one important message I would like to remember with you now: that there is a place in each of us where we are already pure, innocent, unsullied, radiant, true; where we know and are known; where we love and are loved. This is the divine child in us, the child who, coming from a state of bliss and knowing, incarnates into an earthly body – in which it suddenly finds itself vulnerable to the whole system of madness we call human life. Small wonder – in the face of such madness – if this divine child in human form is constricted into silence, bewildered into compromise, repressed into forgetfulness, or frightened into conformity or blindness.

But 2007 is the year, I am sure, when you, we and many others need to step with great courage and confidence into the pure, radiant clothing that is truly our own; to let the divine child in us fully incarnate; to reclaim our original innocence; to be reborn as our true selves.

All of us are on a healing journey. We know we need to be whole, and we have tried all sorts of ways to reach that point of balance and harmony. That's why we like reading all these books, isn't it! But, as Alberto Villoldo makes so abundantly clear in The Four Insights, the problems we face in life cannot be solved at the level at which they were created. We can only fix these problems at a level above the one on which they were created. In other words, the doorway to healing is opened only when we identify – not with our lack of wholeness, or with our pains and sorrows and neediness – but with our wholeness, with the part of us that does not need healing because it is whole already: the divine child in us.

That is why the most successful healers are those who enable their patients to remember their innate wholeness and purity, and to ground it in this body, in this earth, in the here and now. Yes, this place of wholeness, open to all of us because it is us in our deepest essence, is the place where true healing can begin. So.... to use the title of our calendar, let's 'Do It Now!'

May 2007 be the year in which you know your own light more clearly, and spread it more widely than ever before!

With much love from Geoff, Ann and the Cygnus Team
