2007 Issue 02: BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED

For a number of years I have spent the evenings of February and March tucked up in my dressing gown in front of an open fire, surrounded by many organic gardening books, leafing through the endless choice of new season seed catalogues, ever hopeful that spring would arrive calmly and encourage me out into the garden. I prepared my large garden with hope and an expectation that I would be replenished in both body and soul by the nourishment of organic vegetables and the sight and scent of my beloved sweet peas.

Each spring never failed to excite me, but life and situations change, as we know so well, and this year my space for garden creation may be as small as a window box. Another time for challenge and transformation! A new opportunity to realise that in our daily life we plant many kinds of seeds, and their messages and periods of growth may be very different, but equally as powerful.

Through the cracks in the concrete of the busy streets, seedlings emerge, revealing the message that, wherever even the smallest shaft of light shines, given the basic needs, life is possible. Growth after struggle brings strength, and is in itself a reward, but using that strength to carry on the commitment to blossom is perhaps one of our most difficult choices.

We are seeds of human potential, a powerhouse of purpose, unique in our individuality, and yet all carrying the same message: to let our loving light shine. We mirror the seed’s journey, and after a period of rest, we commit to the unfolding process of life, receiving help in many forms along the way. Maybe your fulfilment will be recognised by those you love, and maybe not. Perhaps it will be known only to you, who are gifted by the flowering of your own beauty. Do not let your expectation restrict what is boundless: given free rein and universal love, anything and everything is possible.

If your seed is to be a daisy, do not try to be a sunflower, wasting your energy in pointless effort. There is room on Earth for daisies and sunflowers; both are needed to bring forth their own special message.

Where possible join with others; one single bloom can catch the eye of a searching soul, but a field of vibrant blooms may lift the spirit of even the saddest heart.

So, whether your feet are gently treading the earth, or softly kissing the concrete streets on your daily path, prepare your inner garden, rooted into this life, ready for the opportunity to reach towards your potential. Be ready and willing to blossom, radiating joy to all.

As my fridge magnet reminds me, and us all: ‘Bloom where you are planted’.

With Love, the Energetic Vibration Of Life, Mary
