 Dear Friends
At the Cygnus Bookshop in Lampeter we hold a variety of evening and weekend events. One of the most rewarding and enjoyable is our story time for children, held on one Saturday morning each month. Numbers vary, but Jack attends every time, with great enthusiasm, eager to savour both the chosen story and, maybe, some tempting treat of refreshment! In March we read The Secret of Water by Masaru Emoto, ending the morning with the experiment suggested at the end of the book. The results have been so amazing that we would like to share them with you.
The foolish and the beautiful
The suggestion is to plant two seeds, then label and water each one differently. One seed is labelled ‘You are a fool’, then watered and energised by the same vibration - ‘You are a fool’. The other seed is planted, receiving a label and energised water to the vibration ‘You are beautiful’. The water is energised by standing a glass of water on a piece of paper on which are written either the words ‘You are a fool’ or ‘You are beautiful’.
Jack and Ellen both chose runner bean seeds and planted them in pots, each child having two pots, labelled and watered with the different words and vibrations of water. We waited, and were more than a little surprised when the first beans to emerge were both labelled ‘You are a fool’. Jo, Emma and I, who work in the shop, briefly considered changing labels! Here were our beans - in full view for all to see, watered and spoken to diligently by the children each week after school - responding in a most surprising way. Having words of beauty seemed to fall on deaf ears, as the foolish beans emerged with amazing speed.
Patience is rewarded
We explained our experiment to shop visitors, who seemed as sceptical as we were at that point. Jack and Ellen persevered, and each week returned to water and offer words of encouragement or discouragement. The ‘foolish’ beans had reached some three or four inches by the time the ‘beautiful’ beans emerged, and, as the laws of this universe so often teach us, patience is rewarded. Strong, healthy, majestic and beautiful beans climbed not only the canes we provided, but took advantage of the shop’s light fittings as they grew daily in strength and stature, reaching the ceiling in just a few weeks, overtaking the foolish beans. The foolish beans’ leaves became yellow and lifeless, stunted in size with a shrivelled root system, unable to support their journey of growth; they never grew further than twelve inches, and never reached their full potential. As the beautiful beans grew they reached out and joined together, however far apart we placed their pots.
Healing vibration
What utterly simple and yet profound lessons The Secret of Water experiment revealed to us: that to travel towards the light takes preparation, time to gather strength; and that healing vibration - by either the spoken word, hand or water - affects us intensely, even if our response is not visible or understood at first. As we are 70% water, what care we should take over the words and actions we say and do to ourselves and others. If we needed a reminder, a visual clarification of the power of vibration upon another life force, here it is.
Words of anger and degradation crystallize the water within our bodies, twist and shrink the life force within, making the daily tasks we perform harder, and often painful. It is not only ourselves who suffer: we are the drop that ripples into the ocean of life around us; we are the very centre of our universe.
What distress a sensitive soul suffers through needless ridicule. We have the ability to bring waves of wisdom, or a tidal wave of trauma, to our fellow man and woman. As the foolish beans remind us, growth under the weight of unhealthy vibration is almost impossible; we may just survive, but our rootless lives will not bring the harvest of our soul’s purpose. World famine will continue, of body, mind and soul.
Acts of divine love
By taking just a moment to extend a compliment, a word of thanks, an offering of support, a kindness, we perform an act of divine love, and though we may not immediately, or indeed ever, see the result, rest assured and know from the depths of your inner being that in this selfless act you were the gift that was so needed by another in that present moment. Face the mirror of your intention and allow yourself to receive the gifts others extend to you. An empty vessel can give of nothing; buy a return ticket and bring yourself home. What growth and beauty will be revealed as you offer and respond to love. Wash up and make beds with love, travel and work with love, type and talk with love, reap and sow with love, play and pray with love. Be in love with your life, and life will reward you - with love.
A matrix of magic
Join together, as the ‘beautiful’ beans did, supporting each other to form a matrix of magic, a ‘www’ of abundance, encircling our planet and shining on all life within it. Drink a glass of water every day, energised with the vibration of a word you choose - maybe it’s joy, laughter, freedom or courage - and bathe your inner cells with the secret you desire, through the power of water.
The foolish beans never did recover from their experience. Emma planted them in her garden with hope of recovery, but a brief gust of wind snapped their weak and feeble stems. The beautiful beans, now planted in Jack’s garden, are in flower, and well on the way to a productive harvest.
A happy ending
By the way, Jack really is his name! And as with any fairy story, there is a happy ending. When asked what he would do with all the beans from his plant, Jack quickly replied, ‘Sell them, on eBay! Well, who wouldn’t want beautiful beans in their life?!’
So, from the Cygnus Bookshop, Emma, Jo and Mary - and Jack - we send our love, the energetic vibration of life, from one human ‘bean’ to another!
