In Times of Need, Just Ask
Are you there? – I whisper
who will set me free
from turmoil and the pressure
a friend to walk with me.
Are you there? – I wonder
a hand to reach for mine
to leave a pure white feather
to offer me a sign.
Are you there? – I need you
a candle light will show
the path that leads to wisdom,
reminds me what I know.
Are you there? – In silence
I wait so I may hear
the rustle of your wings
to let me know you're near.
Are you there? – I wait for
the words to ease my heart
to fill the empty chambers
and rip the veil apart.
Come to me, Creator
lift me to your side
in rising to your calling
my wings are opened wide.
Now I stand before you
humbled by your grace
I bow before your glory
the softness of your face.
Darkness into shadows
gently fades away –
the light is warm
here comes the dawn –
I face another day.
