What an immense sense of achievement draws its veil over us – we have made it through a year which for so many has been a chaotic challenge. Surely 2007 has the potential to be remembered as a year of letting go. Divine wisdom spoke, and we had to listen and move with the request, or continue to turn our face away from the mirror of our own truth. The deepest reflection urged us to face our own denials and fall headlong into the arms of the unknown.
As the year turns, the axis of the inner heart shifts also, and the wheel of life steps up another cog. Each day offers us the chance of a new way of being, and so too does the passing of the old and the promise of a new year. Naturally, we reflect on the passing of time and events which have shaped our year, a passage of time that we have added now to our history and in turn to that of the world.
Time is both the healer and the stealer. If not managed well, time robs us of the precious moments in which we might have enjoyed their exquisite beauty.
Reflection brings the pause that allows the present to be experienced. What an opportunity the immediate moment allows! In this moment, fully embraced, we are free from past and future alike. Taking time to extend the gap before life presents itself to you will replenish the soul; life happens naturally, no force is required.
The future is the gift that awaits us beneath the tree of life. Its value, colour, size and content are wrapped in future possibilities. Who knows what will be presented? Not all presents are well received; they may not be what you asked for, but will prove to be what you need. In silencing the chatter of demands and desires we become aware of the knowledge already held within – the key of inner wisdom. Searching for riches outside oneself will hold little value.
Planting our roots in morally beneficial soil will provide a firm foundation for the future. Rest assured, it is not an easy task to follow the path that unfolds as we heed the laws of a spiritual life. When a willing servant applies to the Master, there will be no rejection, no return of CV; all applicants will receive employment. Living a life, divinely directed, will serve all mankind. No journey is without its challenge; it may be difficult, but no jewel gleams without polishing. Reward is in the work alone.
Struggle moves to surrender as the wheel turns, and the plough to which you set your hand will guide you, reveal a furrow before you, into which each step will be straight and true. Go at the Master’s pace, not your own. Each day live in peace; today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday, and all is well.
