 I had heard of James Twyman, the peace troubadour who goes into war zones and even to the United Nations to talk and play his peace songs. I longed to meet him, especially after reading Emissary of Light, the extraordinary story of his trip into the mountains of war torn Bosnia where he met a mystical community known as the Emissaries of Light, a secret society said to have existed for thousands of years, dedicated to peace. Then in his next book, Emissary of Love, he connected with a group of Indigo children who were all psychic and had ‘knowing’ about many things. They ask him to deliver their message to the world. I could not put these books down.
I was so fascinated that when I heard James was in London I was there in the audience. James is a very funny speaker and had us rocking with laughter between his songs. Then something astonishing happened. In the interval he came up to me and said, ‘You’re Diana Cooper aren’t you?’ He had never seen me, nor did he know I was in London, but the moment he saw me, he knew who I was because of the angels! I found that awesome.
Nourishing the soul
I have met him several times since that occasion and shared a platform with him. I love his chilled approach as well as his dedication to his mission. Last time we met he was talking with infectious enthusiasm about his new book and film The Moses Code. Like many spiritual people he felt that The Secret [170103], which describes the Law of Attraction, teaches people to attract material things. So he decided to write The Moses Code which teaches you to attract that which nourishes your soul. He explains how blessings pour into you when you serve others, for this accelerates your spiritual journey and feeds you at a deep level. The book contains exercises which enable you to attain deep levels of peace.

James Twyman is full of imaginative ideas. He tells a wonderful story about the famous peace cloth which he organised. All over the world people made pieces of cloth in a particular size imbued with peace and sent them to him. Volunteers sewed them into an astonishing length, exceeding a mile. When he was singing for peace in front of the US Capitol Building James laid out the cloth in the shape of this sacred peace symbol.
That night the police were knocking on his hotel door, complaining that it had left an imprint on the grass – not that the grass had died under the cloth as you might expect but that the grass had become a brighter green and the peace symbol was clearly visible!
Not only is James extremely brave but two years ago he faced a huge personal challenge when his ex wife, with whom he had remained a great friend, and who was the mother of his daughter, was brutally murdered. I cannot imagine anything more dreadful to face, especially for a man dedicated to peace but he has done so with dignity and integrity.

When my friend Rosemary Stephenson, who herself heals through her singing voice, listened to James’ voice on his website, she knew she had to meet him. By divine synchronicity he was appearing in England that very evening and she drove through rain and fog to hear his message. She was so impressed that she has organised a day event for him on Sunday May 11th in Manchester at the Gorton Monastery, which is dedicated to St. Francis. Edwin Courtenay, the popular clairvoyant and teacher, will also be talking on that day.
