Fallen Angels
I'm simply surrounded by angels
... Most of 'em well past their prime,
And lacking the trappings of glory
Which... well... just dropped off, over time.
There's several with wings which are wonky,
And halos set slightly askew,
While trumpets and harps can only be played
Courtesy strong superglue.
They've entered my life willy nilly,
As giftings from those I hold dear,
Perhaps to mark Christmas or birthday,
Or sometimes to comfort and cheer.
They've travelled the years alongside me,
Sharing the downs and the ups,
Perched along dresser and mantel,
Swinging from rails and from hooks.
Now I'm stuck with each Heavenly Body
Because, at the end of the day,
An Angel's an Angel for ever,
You can't simply chuck 'em away.
So I'll cherish these battle-scarred beings
All flying around and above,
And know myself showered with blessings,
For each one was given with love.

Conveyed with Love
I learnt about the power of blessings by working with a beautiful, gentle soul who taught me how love with focused intent can create a blessing that can fill your day and transform a situation. Part of my job involved arranging orders and shipments to be sent to my company from America. It sounds simple, but it's amazing what could go astray, be delayed, and have a knock-on effect with our customers if it didn't go smoothly, according to the proposed timescale.
Virtually all of our communications were via email but every email contained beautiful, uplifting words of blessing that suffused an otherwise mundane coordination of dates, times, quantities and couriers. Across the almost three years that we worked together I learnt how words, when written with grace and intent, could convert the mundane into a spiritual experience. The respect, integrity and clarity that my American wordsmith conveyed to all those he dealt with in these shipments meant that even when things did go awry the clarity of blessings bestowed corrected the situation swiftly and with love.
True blessings originate from the heart through thoughts, words and deeds, bringing the grace that can transform the difficulties of daily life into lessons that can heal our souls. I shall always be grateful for the blessings my American colleague bestowed on me as he taught me the importance of our focused intent when conveyed with love.

Blessings of the Munay-Ki
Greetings Friends!
In March 2007 I was diagnosed with advanced terminal cancer, (lymphoma), and given one year to live without treatment. It was a great shock, enough to make me push aside my shamanic intent and launch into chemotherapy with a barrage of pharmacopia, the side effects of which, alone, were terrifying.
To say I felt sick-unto-death is an understatement. I became a ‘walking dead’, fading into oblivion, unseeing, unfeeling. I abandoned the treatment and returned to my shamanic sources. In October, I dragged myself to a workshop and received the five foundation blessings of the Munay-Ki, the gift of the Laika-Incas to the world. In February 2008, I received the final four great blessings of the Munay-Ki.
Now, in March 2008, aged seventy five, I am more healthy than I have ever been, a complete conundrum to my consultant oncologist and her colleagues.
I give heartfelt thanks for my rediscovered shamanic inheritance from the khazars of Central Asia, for the gifts of Cosmic Energies, to my teachers, especially on the Toltec path, and friends who gave me their support. They know who they are! And to the Laika people and their teachers.

A Blessing in Disguise
When people send me blessings I smile because I know that I shall always gratefully receive them and that they are undoubtedly for my highest good. Recently I received a blessing in disguise which I am excited to share with you.
For the last few months I have been working with a man who presents as quite challenging for me in many ways. Nothing this chap said to me was particularly uplifting or sincere and I could sense vibes of hostility directed my way for the most part. I counteracted this energy with my own brand of artistic humour!
One cold day I was wearing my black woolly cap and he said I reminded him of the comedian Norman Wisdom. This amused me and was food for thought! At Christmas time I bought him a Norman Wisdom DVD aptly entitled 'The Bulldog Breed'. I was reminded of how much I enjoyed Wisdom's films as a child and thus I decided to buy myself the whole box set!
My vibrations shot up as I watched them because I laughed so much and was cheered. I especially loved the sketch when Norman poses for a passport picture and develops a fit of the giggles. When he sang 'take a step in the right direction' to a group of orphan kids, I felt very moved and guided. I suddenly realised that my difficult male colleague had inadvertently passed a truly wondrous blessing my way – a treasure trove of hilarity – and I so appreciated him for it!
